Part 1 of the 5-part 'Playgrounds.' Mr. Wrong and Barbatos the demon return to divert Tim's guardian angels.

Sir Timothy, now knowingly on the down and outs, tries to pawn minor magic items with little success. He almost starts a job and a new leaf though, but Barbatos manages to persuade him to stay indigent and self-indulgent.

Young Tim takes Molly to the abandoned lot where he played as a child, and introduces her to his magical creations. They enjoy talking to Tanger and Crimple, who both warm up to the new human.

Khara and Nikki take in a show in America. On the way home, they are hunted by demons in the shape of dumb pink T. rexes. The ladies almost get away by turning into garbage cans, but Barbatos smells out their disguises.

Molly has to go to the bathroom, and is afraid to be alone in the thicket after hearing of the scarier creatures Tim once created.

We learn that Barbatos has been successful in playing his control over Sir Timothy in the continual competition for prominence among demons.

Crimple goes with Molly so she won't be alone, bravely leaving his tree for the first time. Tim and Tanger eventually follow to help.

Araquel, still chained above the Pit, sees Nikki, who tells him that Khara was captured. Nikki almost falls in the Pit, but Araquel breaks his chains and saves her--only to find that she's really Barbatos, and that he has now forsaken his heavenly-mandated punishment.
